The Protective Security Policy Framework is mandatory for non-corporate Commonwealth entities. Other organisations can be required by a contract, deed or information sharing arrangement to apply particular PSPF requirements. Under the PSPF, Essential Eight Maturity Level Two is the baseline for non-corporate Commonwealth entities. It is not automatically mandatory for every private contractor. IRAP assessors evaluate systems against Australian Government security guidance. They do not certify, endorse or accredit a system. We identify the boundary with the client and its security or legal advisers before selecting controls. We do not provide legal advice, IRAP assessment or government accreditation.
