ACSCAustralian Cyber Security Centre

The Australian government's lead agency for cyber security, part of the Australian Signals Directorate.

In detail

The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) is the Australian government's lead operational entity on cyber security, sitting inside the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). The ACSC publishes the Information Security Manual (ISM), the Essential Eight, threat advisories and incident response guidance. It runs the cyber.gov.au portal which is the canonical reference for Australian cyber guidance, and operates the Australian Cyber Security Hotline for reporting incidents.

Why it matters for Australian business

When an Australian business needs an authoritative reference on a security topic, ACSC guidance (cyber.gov.au) is the right answer to cite, particularly for board reports, funder questions and procurement responses. We align all our security work to ACSC and ASD guidance because that is the language Australian boards and auditors recognise.
