Generative Engine Optimisation

The discipline of optimising content and brand signals so generative AI models include and positively represent your business in their outputs.

In detail

Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) extends AEO beyond citation into brand representation: ensuring that when a generative AI model mentions or recommends businesses in your category, yours is included accurately and favourably. GEO covers the full footprint that AI models train on and retrieve from: web content, review platforms, social signals, structured data, industry directories, press coverage and forum discussions. Unlike traditional SEO it is harder to measure directly because model training data is not transparent, but the surface area of influence is much larger.

Why it matters for Australian business

For Australian professional services firms GEO is the mechanism by which brand presence in AI answers is built over time. A business with strong review signals, consistent structured data, quality content and broad industry presence is more likely to be recommended by an AI than one that has only optimised for traditional search. We integrate GEO signals into our AEO strategy engagements and treat it as a long-term asset-building exercise, not a quick tactic.
