NDISNational Disability Insurance Scheme

Australia's national insurance scheme that funds support for people with permanent and significant disability, with mandatory standards for registered providers.

In detail

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) with quality and safeguarding regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Registered providers must meet the NDIS Practice Standards, which include obligations around information management, privacy, cybersecurity and the use of technology that processes participant information. The Code of Conduct also applies to all workers regardless of registration status.

Why it matters for Australian business

AI tools used by NDIS providers (note-taking, scheduling, support coordination, billing) typically process sensitive personal and disability information that is subject to multiple overlapping obligations: the Privacy Act, NDIS Practice Standards, and the Code of Conduct. We build NDIS-aware AI tooling and run readiness audits for providers.
